Tethered (ongoing)

2024 Silver winner of the Tokyo International Photo Award (TIFA)

This series of photographs reflects on connection and the vulnerability that shapes our relationships. It began at a time when I longed to be with my family but couldn’t. What emerged was a quiet attempt to stay connected despite the distance.

The wire holds tension; it remembers every movement of the hand. There’s a sense of communication within it—like the old telephone lines that once carried voices across space, thin cables through which feeling seemed to travel.

The images do not ask to be analysed. They invite a pause, a moment to sense the weight of closeness and separation, the tenderness that persists between them.
